ROTARY CLUB WELCOMES DISTRICT GOVERNOR
The Rotary Club of Red Bud welcomed Jeffrey Thorton, District Governor of Rotary District 6510, which encompasses dozens of local clubs across southern Illinois. Mr. Thorton was on hand to thank the Red Bud Rotary Club for their work on several successful local community-based projects, and their support of Rotary’s primary international initiative, the eradication of Polio.
During his visit, Mr. Thorton congratulated 3 new Paul Harris Fellows, an award earned by any Rotarian who pledges a $1,000 donation to the Rotary Foundation. Currently, the Red Bud Rotary Club has 28 active members, of which 9 have earned the Paul Harris Fellow Award.
Each week, the club hosts speakers from various philanthropic and civic organizations, community businesses, and regional leaders and elected officials.
